An accomplished thespian, she has been active professionally from over the past 27 years. In 1990, she made her stage debut with an Off Broadway production of The Big Funk written by John Patrick Shanley. The Perfect Tribute was her first role on TV a year after. Her biggest break in her career came about in 1992 when she was a character in the film Basic Instinct. In The Firm, she played the leading female character for the very first time. She was on the screen alongside Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 1990s, Gwyneth worked alongside Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Recently she played Dr Alex Blake in the internationally well-known crime procedural Criminal Minds.
